Two Roads Professional Resources, Inc. staff had a great time volunteering at the The Ronald McDonald House® Charities of Long Beach.
Doug Holtz, Jaime Brogdon, Jennifer Phillips, Katelyn Davis, Stephanie Carlucci, and Two Roads President Tammy Gottschalk got to the local non-profit early in the morning with ingredients to whip up a Mexican food buffet with tacos, burritos, mixed fruit, and cookies for dessert. Some of their friends and family members were invited to join them in this opportunity as well.
The Ronald McDonald House® Charities of Long Beach offers a loving home away from home to families needing to be near their seriously ill or injured children while they’re being treated at the Long Beach Memorial Pediatrics Center.
“It felt good to give back. We didn’t expect to feel as good as we did after we volunteered. It was just great to meet some of the parents and family members who came in for the lunch break before heading right back to the hospital to be with their loved one. Many of the parents shared their gratitude with us while they took a much needed break, although short.” Jaime Brogdon, Corporate Administrator said.
Jennifer Phillips, Technical Recruiter, who was responsible for much of the coordinating
between Two Roads and he Ronald McDonald House®, said that volunteering in the community is fulfilling to her and finds herself wanting to do more. “The great thing about Two Roads is that they are always trying to get together and do things for the community. It not only creates team comradery inside the office, but outside the office as well, and gives us the opportunity to be more involved.”
Two Roads is regularly involved in the community throughout the year including adopting families in need during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Back to School programs.
Technical Recruiter Katelyn Davis also enjoyed volunteering at The Ronald McDonald House®, “It was a beautiful facility and beautiful experience. I’m extremely grateful to have the type of Employer that makes community important, and gives us the chance to participate in these types of projects. It makes me feel inspired and motivates me to stay involved in my community on an individual basis.”
The next event Two Roads Staff will be participating in will be for the organization Children Today. They are hosting a 5k/10k on Saturday, May 25th, during Memorial Day weekend. Two Roads is going to sponsor a team of 10. And as they have over the last five years, will have staff members on hand throughout the day volunteering for the race.
